Explain the relationship between phenomenological rupture, trust, and the creation of ecological knowledge by discussing the Practical Farmers of Iowa example from the book.
What will be an ideal response?
The PFI farmers first encountered a phenomenological rupture when
their original farming practices did not work. This rupture led them to doubt the
base of trust upon which they long committed to, and some of the community
members initiated dialogues within the farming communities and with the
scientists in the university. New dialogues built up new trust, and finally, created
new ecological knowledge.
