What signs and symptoms would you expect in a person who has damaged the menisci of the knee joint?

What will be an ideal response?

Damage to the menisci of the knee joint decreases the joint's lateral stability, so the person would have difficulty locking the knee in place while standing and would have to use muscle contractions to stabilize the joint. If the person had to stand for a long time, the muscles would fatigue, and the knee would "give out." It is also likely that the person would feel pain.
