What is the purpose of the gradient annotator?
What will be an ideal response?
Whenever you select an object with a gradient fill and then click the Gradient tool, the gradient annotator appears on the object itself. The annotator shows you the length and angle of the gradient. The large circle on one end indicates the start of the gradient, and the small square at the other end indicates the end of the gradient. You can think of the gradient annotator as an option for editing the gradient fill locally. If you float the cursor over the gradient annotator, color stops appear on the annotator. You can click and drag the color stops to modify the way the gradient fills the object. You can also click and drag the gradient annotator itself to move the gradient to another location on the object or to rotate the gradient, thus changing the angle of how it fills the object. Any changes you make on the gradient annotator will be updated on the Gradient panel, and vice versa.
