What role did external invasion and attack play in the collapse of civilizations in the Aegean World, Northern Anatolia, and Egypt?
What will be an ideal response?
Answers will vary but correct responses should include: Internal warfare and invaders played a role in all of these civilizations. In Northern Anatolia, the Hattinomadic prowlers from the hinterlands were a common hazard. In the Aegean world, warfare inspired the building of fortifications for both internal struggles as well as those from outside invaders. In Egypt they were routinely exposed to invaders such as the Sea Peoples. External invasion was not considered to be the major cause of collapse in any of these civilizations, however, but was probably due to the inability to sustain their large populations.
