Explain why identical twins are clones

What will be an ideal response?

Clones are defined as molecules, cells, or individuals derived from a single ancestor. When a fertilized egg divides to form two cells, those cells usually remain attached to each other and become parts of one embryo. In a small number of cases, the cells separate from each other and form separate embryos that become identical twins. Because they are derived from a single ancestral cell, identical twins are clones.
