The benefits of involved fathers are evident at many ages. Infants who have involved fathers are more curious and less fearful. Preschoolers with active fathers have higher verbal skills. Young children with involved fathers exhibit more self-control and less impulsivity. In addition, males with involved fathers are less likely to become a teen father. Children of fathers involved in parent-teacher associations complete more years of school and have higher wages than those with fathers who are not involved.
