If an animal with a nonproductive cough is given fluids because it is dehydrated, what might happen to its cough?

What will be an ideal response?

When the animal is rehydrated after fluid therapy, the cough may become productive because of adequate levels of fluid in the animal's body. This will allow any mucus present to become more fluid and thus have the viscosity to be expelled by coughing. Clinically, the animal will develop a productive cough and may cough more frequently.
