Discuss the concepts of water scarcity, water sanitation and access to water

Water scarcity refers to areas of the world where water shortages are common. As population increases, water problems will become even more acute. Compounding this problem is the fact that more than 70% of the world's water is diverted for agriculture. Clean water is unavailable for millions on the planet. Very high death rates exist in areas where people use polluted water for their daily needs. This toll is especially high for infants and children. Water access may not be difficult for people only because of water scarcity. Instead, many do not have access to water because they must travel long distances to do so or because the water is too costly (privatization has made affordable water more of a problem).
