What metacognitive strategies can be taught to students to help them study?

What will be an ideal response?

Metacognitive strategies should be taught within the context of the project or test. Initially teachers should walk the students through these stages, then allow them to handle them independently. Six basic stages are used—asking questions, planning, monitoring, checking, revising, and self-testing. These stages apply whether students are writing reports, doing long-term projects, doing homework, or studying for tests.
