How has the concern by the drafters of the Constitution affected the laws regarding treason in the United States?

What will be an ideal response?

Existing threats against the new government of the United States from within and without the new country prompted the drafters to take a tough stance against treason. At the same time, the drafters of the Constitution were guilty of treason themselves and concerned that the new government not be able to commit crimes against the people through treason laws. The result was a balance between security and freedom in the Constitution and the interpretation by the U.S. Supreme Court throughout U.S. history has reflected this balance.
