Explain the difference between active and passive recruitment methods, and provide examples of each.
What will be an ideal response?
Passive recruitment methods provide information about an agency to an unknown number of individuals who may or may not take action based on the information provided. Examples include radio, television, or newspaper advertisements. Active recruitment involves face-to-face interaction between the recruiter and the job candidates. This personal interaction provides a better opportunity to sell the candidate on the benefits of working for the agency. It also allows the recruiter to learn about the candidate and obtain information for follow-up recruitment efforts. Examples would include job fairs or special hiring events.
