achieve goals through own efforts. Religion tends to be a group activity, while magic is
more individually oriented. Religion is usually practiced at specific times; magic is
practiced in response to specific and immediate problems. Religion involves officially
recognized functionaries, and magic is performed by wide variety of practitioners.
