Maslow's hierarchy is one of the most time-honored devices for helping speakers understand the principles behind persuasion. Either by drawing a diagram of the hierarchy and labeling its parts, or by explaining each level in a paragraph, demonstrate your understanding of how persuasion is related to needs

What will be an ideal response?

Answer: Whether diagrammed or written, answers should include the following:
Physiological needs: the basic needs in order to a person to survive. Having these needs met will allow speaker’s appeals to higher-level needs to be heard.
Safety needs: the need to feel safe, secure, and protected. Persuasive speakers often appeal to the need to provide for our own and our loved ones’ safety.
Social needs: the need to feel loved and valued through contact with others and reassurance that they care about us. The need for social contact and the sense of belonging to a group are both useful for a persuasive speaker.
Self-esteem needs: the desire to think well of ourselves. This is best used in persuading people to buy products.
Self-actualization needs: the need to fully realize one’s highest potential. This can only be addressed after all other needs are met, so persuasive calls to something are best at appealing to this need.
