Provide an example of a sentence for each of the following conditions: Wernicke's aphasia, transcortical sensory aphasia, and conduction aphasia.

What will be an ideal response?

An example of a sentence that a patient with Wernicke's may say would be a fluent sentence that doesn't make sense, such as "And it just happened so I don't know, he did not bring around anything." In people with transcortical sensory aphasia, there is a great degree of similarity with Wernicke's, but these individuals can repeat words. So a gibberish sentence may begin with a repetition; for example, after an examiner asks, "How are you?," a person with Wernicke's might respond, "How are you and it just happened so I don't know. . . ." Finally, conduction aphasia involves inability to repeat words that aren't real, so an individual with this disorder might respond with frustration or "I don't know" in response to a request to repeat a nonsense word.
