Based on your reading and your critical thinking skills, explain the use of IQ testing in the United States. Give your informed, academically sound opinion as to whether or not you think IQ testing is useful
What will be an ideal response?
IQ tests are given at various times depending on the school system. There is little evidence to support the idea that routine IQ testing is helpful. Most research agrees that IQ testing is helpful when trying to help students who are struggling with basic academic skills such as reading, writing and math. Most school systems use IQ testing in this way. There is significant evidence to indicate that IQ tests are culturally biased. There is no clear answer as to the appropriate use of the standard IQ tests.
