There will many answers, but a student may focus on a certain type of work. Popular topics that come to mind are freedom of speech, freedom of religion, gun control legislation, due process and equal protection. A criminal law paralegal will often be involved in case work where a defendant's due process rights may have been violated in the arrest process. A paralegal who works for a city attorney may be given the task of drafting a noise ordinance, and that work will involve free speech issues.
