List and summarize the functions of the four divisions of the brain

What will be an ideal response?

The four divisions of the brain are cerebrum, diencephalon, cerebellum, and brainstem. The cerebrum is responsible for higher mental functions, including learning, memory, personality, cognition, language, and conscience. It also plays a role in sensation and movement. The diencephalon is responsible for processing, integrating, and relaying information to different parts of the brain. It also is responsible for homeostatic functions, regulation of movement, and biological rhythms. The cerebellum is important for the planning and coordination of movement. The functions of the brainstem include involuntary homeostatic functions, control of certain reflexes, monitoring movement, and integrating and relaying information to other parts of the nervous system.
