Explain what easing is and how to use it.

What will be an ideal response?

Few things in real life move at a constant speed from start to finish. Most things either start slowly and gradually speed up, such a car, or start fast and gradually slow down, such as a rolling ball. To emulate this real-world behavior, Flash offers the option of easing. You can think of easing as going slowly. You can set a motion tween to ease in or ease out. In refers to entering an animation (the start). Out refers to exiting an animation (the end). Therefore, easing in means to start an animation slowly and then speed up. Easing out means to slow down at the end of an animation. To adjust the easing, you can click any frame on the Timeline within a motion tween and then set an Ease value in the Properties panel. A large negative Ease value, such as -100, causes the animation to start slowly and then speed up. A large positive Ease value, such as 100, causes the animation to slow down toward the end.
