Access time
What is the meaning of the term (when applied to memory systems technology)?
Access time is the time taken to read a memory element. This is usually the time taken from the start of an access cycle to the time at which the data has been read or written. The access time of read and write accesses may be the same, but not all memories have equal read and write access times.
