Explain when a broken dimension line is used.
What will be an ideal response?
When the center of an arc falls outside the limits of the drawing, a broken dimension line is used. This dimension line gives the size of the arc and indicates that the arc center lies on a center line outside the drawing. This technique is also used when a dimension line interferes with other parts of a drawing.
