Can periodontal disease be diagnosed using only radiographs?
What will be an ideal response?
Radiographs are not the only assessment tool used to diagnose periodontal diseases. Since radiographs only show past disease activity, another tool must be used together with radiographs for diagnosis. This other tool is periodontal probing (clinical attachment levels). Both periodontal probing and radiographs should be used together to help in a diagnosis.
