Describe what the nursing assistant can do to be successful in dealing with patients with demanding behavior.
What will be an ideal response?
Try to learn and understand what is causing the demanding behavior. Show that you care about the patient's situation, but keep your emotions under control. Listen to what the patient says. Keep communication open and pay attention to body language. Allow the patient to make choices to regain control. Be consistent when providing care. Do not take demands personally. Report observations to your supervisor.
