. Describe the difference between a convenience sample and a purposive sample and give an example of each.

What will be an ideal response?

Ans: The convenience sample is one that is selected because it is convenient to the researcher. The purposive sample is one where people are chosen to be in the sample because they are key informants on the study subjects. If your study is the relationship between stress and health, your study class would be a convenience sample. If you are examining the satisfaction of students in this class with this course experience, they would constitute a purposive sample.
