Describe how to use script training to improve the communication of children with ASD.

What will be an ideal response?

In script training, the scripts serve as a model of appropriate language tailored for specific situations, and they can be presented in written form, audio recordings, or video models.Children read the scripts and recite them aloud to their communication partners. After improvements in communication are noted, the script is gradually faded to promote independent communication skills (Ledbetter-Cho et al., 2015). Ledbetter-Cho et al. (2015) provided script training to children with ASD to improve peer-to-peer communication during a social activity (playing with toys). They found that all three participants in their study were able to improve their peer-to-peer communication.
