What would be the likely consequences of legalizing drugs and/or prostitution?
What will be an ideal response?
Legalization of drugs and/or prostitution would reduce the control that criminals currently have over them. The cost of drugs and prostitution may be decreased, and the influence of criminal cartels reduced. It would also reduce the opportunity for official corruption, and may allow for better control over public health issues (e.g., making sterilized needles legally available; requiring sex workers to be licensed and have regular health checks).
