Answer: (1) A message: there must be something you want to convey to another person. Perhaps the purpose of the message is to give information or to acquire information. Perhaps there is something you want the other person to do. (2) A sender: unless there is someone who wants to send a message, there cannot be communication. (3) A receiver: even if there is a message and a sender, there must be a receiver. If there is no one to receive the message, communication is incomplete. (4) Feedback: capturing feedback is of critical importance. People must be seen to be listening and acting on what they are told.
