List and discuss the implications of brain areas possibly involved in sexual orientation.

What will be an ideal response?

Several studies have shown that homosexual males and females have brain structures that appear similar to those of heterosexual members of the other sex. For example, homosexual males and heterosexual females have equal sized brain hemispheres, while heterosexual males and homosexual females have larger right hemispheres. In addition, homosexual males have the suprachiasmatic nucleus of the hypothalamus and INAH3 sized the same as in heterosexual females. These brain differences suggest that early hormonal influence on the brain could control not only gender but also sexual orientation.
