How does gender stability differ from gender constancy?

What will be an ideal response?

When children achieve gender stability around age 3, they understand that their gender will not change; however, others' gender is seen as changeable based on changes in appearance. When children understand gender constancy, they know gender remains the same throughout life, despite superficial changes in appearance or attitude. Children are able to comprehend that a person's sex is a biological characteristic at around 8 years of age.
