Outline the organization and subdivisions of the nervous system

What will be an ideal response?

The nervous system is organized into the central nervous system (CNS), consisting of the brain and spinal cord, and the peripheral nervous system (PNS). The PNS is further subdivided into afferent and efferent divisions. The efferent nervous system is divided into the somatic nervous system, which consists of the fibers of the motor neurons that supply the skeletal muscles; and the autonomic nervous system, which consists of fibers that innervate smooth muscle, cardiac muscle, and glands. The latter system is further subdivided into the sympathetic nervous system and the parasympathetic nervous system.
