Compare and contrast the advantages and opportunities of written versus oral

communication.  Which do you prefer and why?

What will be an ideal response?

Answer should include that oral communication is less formal, is less complicated, uses
shorter sentences, more repetition and is more personal than written.  Written
communication permits the reader to reread, pause and research information, and
digest material at his/her own pace.  It lacks personal connection and nonverbal cues
that help to reinforce the message.
