Compare and contrast formal and informal organizations.
What will be an ideal response?
The formal organization is the public face of the organization and includes its mission statement, what’s on its official website, its rules and procedures, its training manual and curriculum and memorandums by its leaders (either in hard copy of email form), or anything officially sanctioned by its leaders (Blau & Scott, 1962; Stohr & Collins, 2014). The informal organization is often hidden from the public, even clients, but known at least in part by its employees and includes how it really operates (no matter what the official statements about that are).
