Explain how corporate citizenship affects employee health and customer relations.
What will be an ideal response?
Investing in good corporate citizenship can pay dividends for a company in both its
employee profile and in its relationships with customers. Employees in this type of
organization will display, on average, a greater level of engagement, higher productivity-
-especially in creative thinking and problem solving--and better camaraderie. With high
corporate citizenship also comes a better public profile, which will attract better
applicants for jobs, particularly among Millennials and Generation Z. Being socially
responsible is also good marketing for a company; not only can potential customers
hear about good social work through word of mouth, media likes reporting on a
company’s good deeds and some organizations or publications, like the Better World
Shopping Guide, help point customers toward socially responsible companies.
