Discuss both bitmap animation and vector animation, and the differences between them.
What will be an ideal response?
Bitmap animation is created by putting a sequence of bitmap images into one file and playing back the sequence. The playback of the bitmap images produces a perception of motion. Each change the viewer sees requires changing the colors of pixels in the frame. A lot of information is required to keep track of all of the pixel changes even for small images of short duration.
Vector animation lists shapes and their transformations that are played back in sequence to produce the perception of motion. The information required to describe the modification of shapes in a vector animation is usually less than the information required to describe the pixel changes in a bitmap animation. Also, vector graphics are resolution independent, which means that they always appear with the optimum on-screen quality regardless of image size or the screen resolution.
