?Describe the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act.

What will be an ideal response?

The Uniform Interstate Family Support Act has been adopted by every state to help deal with the problem of nonpayment of child support by a parent who has moved to another state. Every state agrees to respect and enforce child-support orders entered by the court of the child's home state. Only the law of the state in which the child and the parent have been living will govern issues regarding child support, so a parent cannot escape that obligation by moving to a state with more lenient rules. The act also allows the parent who is supposed to receive the child-support payments to get the employer of the other parent to withhold payments from the other parent's paycheck for the benefit of the child.
