Describe the difference between "Get on the Balcony" and "Identify Adaptive Challenges."

What will be an ideal response?

"Get on the Balcony" is the first step of adaptive leadership behaviors. It refers to a leader stepping away in the midst of a challenging situation to try to gain perspective. Without first getting on the balcony, it is difficult to "Identify Adaptive Challenges." The identify behavior is about analysis and diagnostics. It is much more difficult to accurately analyze a problem if the leader has not first stepped back to attempt to see the big picture.
