Describe the FAA System Safety TEAM approach.
What will be an ideal response?
TEAM stands for transfer, eliminate, accept, and mitigate. The Transferring of risk is a method by which the organization does not accept the risk for its employees, but decides to contract out the work to another organization that may be better suited or equipped to complete the task. Elimination is simply eliminating the process or the circumstance that requires the process to exist. The organization should only Accept a risk when its frequency, likelihood, and severity are all low. Mitigation means taking action to reduce the frequency, likelihood, or severity of risk. If an unacceptable risk cannot be transferred, eliminated, or accepted (as is), the organization must mitigate the risk.
