Answer: Baumrind’s styles of parenting are authoritative, authoritarian, and permissive. Authoritative consist of characteristics such as exercising firm control over children, but also emphasizing individualism. Authoritarian consists of characteristics such as emphasizing control without nurturance, and no regards for the child’s individuality. Permissive consists of characteristics such as appearing uninvolved in the children’s lives and set little limitations on the child’s actions.
