Results from an experiment showed that the Nintendo Wii system uses only one-sixth the power that a Sony Playstation 3 or Microsoft Xbox 360 does in active mode. As with other electronic systems, you may not want to purchase a game console based mainly on its energy efficiency, but is may be one feature to consider, especially if the system is used heavily. Even if you don’t have the most efficient system you can minimize wasted energy by turning the game console off when it’s not in use.
