What is meant by over and under sampling?
What will be an ideal response?
Over and under sampling refer to sampling a signal at rate higher and lower than Niquist sampling frequency rate, respectively. No additional information will be saved by over sampling, but it will help us to design a cheaper anti-aliasing filter or higher resolution A/D to D/A conversion. Under sampling is used to sample a band-pass filter and for this reason is also called band-pass sampling.
