Define and discuss the purpose of emergency responses and management in corrections.
What will be an ideal response?
Emergency response consists of the actual intervention that is used, the management of that intervention, containment of the emergency, and the successful resolution of the emergency event. In planning these two stages, correctional administrators should be informed of their facility’s general inmate and staff cultural climate since this will typically provide some advanced notice of developments that can become problematic.
