Define identity goals and interaction goals and discuss how these goals can influence each other

What will be an ideal response?

Identity goals are related to maintaining one's self-concept and involve issues, values, and ethics that are important to the individual. On the other hand, interaction goals concern how one should behave or the behavioral rules one should use when communicating. These goals influence each other because if one is concerned about the identity goal of appearing ethical, one is likely to follow interaction goal rules carefully and attend to the other person's needs in order to maintain that identity.
