Answer: All feedback loops have some similar parts. A sensor or receptor senses the environment. This information is relayed to an integrating center, which compares the sensed information to the set point. The response of the integrating center will be sent to an effector, which will carry out the response of the system. This is where the similarities end. In a negative feedback loop, the effector works to bring variables back into the set point range. In a positive feedback loop, any changes will be amplified because the effector will work to ensure that the variables will continue to move away from the set point.
