Discuss the failings of airport security and how the US and other countries have been reactive to security threats since 9/11 and why are airlines like El Al so successful at preventing attacks against their infrastructure
What will be an ideal response?
Airport security has continued to only react after a threat has been uncovered. For example, after the Shoe Bomber, we all now take our shoes off; the liquid explosives threat, now we can't take liquids except in limited quantity. El Al has always relied on its own security at airports and takes the process to a higher level – even as far back as the 1980s when the Hindawi incident took place at Heathrow.
