Why “should” a practitioner deliberately assess each client situation to ensure she/he is adhering to the NASW Code of Ethics?
What will be an ideal response?
Ans: Ethical practice involves a constant evaluation or reflection of each client interaction because of the inherent nature of social work itself. We interface with human beings and assume the responsibility of a professional relationship that assists the client in self-determination and in meeting his/her needs to the best of our ability. In the event of a dilemma, the standards guide us in making the best possible decision for that client within a given context.
