Explain the multiplier effect. Use an example to illustrate it.
What will be an ideal response?
The total mobility is inflated by what we might call the multiplier effect: If new jobs are created toward the top of the hierarchy, they are likely to be filled by people moving up from the middle, creating, in turn, new opportunities for people at lower levels to move up. Thus, each new opening can create two or more moves in a step-by-step progression.
