there been deficits in funds for Social Security? What steps have been taken to correct this? When has this been compromised? What steps may be taken in the future to preserve the integrity of what this program was designed to do and what are the difference in the 2 main political parties viewpoints of what should occur?

The textbook and other resources can be used to answer when there were deficits. The proposals for correcting are also explained and projections for the solvency of the funds. These have cycled over time with who is in office and the status of the country’s economy. Democrats historical want to preserve and expand Social Security and Republicans often express the desire to privatize. It would add to this question to explain the reasoning behind this and whether this reasoning is backed by historical evidence.
