To insert headers and footers while in Normal View, click the Layout tab on the ribbon, and then click the Header & Footer button in the Page Setup group to open the Page Setup dialog box with the Header/Footer tab selected. Click the Customize Header or Customize Footer buttons to access the three header and footer sections. The dialog box that opens includes the same row of buttons that are on the floating toolbar, which appears on a spreadsheet when you double-click above the first row or below the last row to add a header or footer while in Page Layout View.
