There are no (nonhuman) primates today in North America. What elements of the Earth's climate in the Eocene allowed primates to live in North America, and what climatic changes accompanied their disappearance from this continent?

What will be an ideal response?

The Eocene was a particularly warm time in Earth's history, with tropical-like forests covering much of the northern latitudes. Today (and apparently also in the past) primates are limited to tropical habitats. The primates became extinct during the late Eocene, when global temperatures plummeted and the habitats of North America became more temperate and seasonal.
