What is the difference between cross-population and sample generalizability?

What will be an ideal response?

Researchers looking at cross-population generalizability want to project their findings onto groups or populations much larger than, and perhaps different from, those they have actually studied; sample generalizability happens when researchers generalize their findings from the sample to the larger population it was sampled from.
