What is ovulation? How does it function?

What will be an ideal response?

Ovaries are internal female sex organs that produce ova (and hormones). Ovarian follicles are
present in the vascular connective tissue of an ovary, and when a follicle matures, it ejects the oocyte
from the ovary, and that process is called ovulation. The ruptured follicle changes its glandular structure
and transforms into the corpus luteum. The oocyte is released to Fallopian tubes, or oviducts. Oviducts
connect ovaries to the uterus, and the uterus is, via the cervix, related to the vagina. Ovulation is caused
by increased levels of LH, which is influenced by follicles releasing estradiol.
